After studying finance at Boston University, Melissa took an interview with a financial services firm simply for the practice. Then something unexpected happened: she got the job…fell in love with financial planning and, more importantly, the people behind the plans.
Today, Melissa's favorite part of her work is walking alongside people through some of life's biggest moments. She especially enjoys working with retirees and families navigating the challenges that come with aging, helping them prepare not just to retire, but to thrive in retirement and plan thoughtfully for the generations that follow.
Over the years, Melissa has had the privilege of seeing clients through some of their happiest moments, like marriages and the birth of children, as well as some of their hardest, including the loss of loved ones. She believes being a financial advisor means being more than the person who manages a portfolio. It's being a trusted friend, a sounding board, and someone clients know will be there when life doesn't go according to plan.
That relationship-driven approach is at the heart of Stein Wealth Advisors, which Melissa and her husband, Josh, founded in 2008. Her goal is simple: help people make confident financial decisions while making sure their money supports the life they actually want to live.
When she's not working with clients, you'll probably find Melissa doing something that has nothing to do with spreadsheets—cooking, gardening, drinking coffee, or riding dirt bikes with her kids. And if she's really getting away, St. Maarten is one of her favorite places to be.
